THE PARTY IS OVER! When we first moved to Qingdao in 2011, it was a vibrant international city full of fun and vitality.
Forty years of building and opening up Red China are now behind them; in the spring of 2020, Qingdao is just another town in
a remarkably oppressive communist police state, and a most inhospitable place for any Oktoberfest Celebration today.
